New England Women’s XC Ski Day was started in 2002 by former Olympian Trina Hosmer of Stowe, VT. Trina was inspired by her “Sisters in Skiing” in Anchorage, Alaska, who started the Alaska Ski for Women in 1997. The highlight of the day is learn-to-ski clinics with women instructors; the emphasis being on relaxed, fun learning in a supportive and encouraging environment. This is a fantastic opportunity for BKL Parent Leaders, NENSA clubs leaders, endurance sports enthusiasts, Masters’ competitors, and more to join us to increase your confidence and technical knowledge of the sport with a world-class team of instructors!

All ability, skill, and experience levels are welcome. In addition to this event being open to all women, we also encourage and support the participation of nonbinary people who are comfortable in a space that centers the experience of women. NENSA hopes that Women's Day helps bring more folx together to enjoy this wonderful sport.

This year’s event will be held at the Holderness Nordic Center, in Holderness, NH.

Like the Alaskans’ original event, Women’s XC Ski Day chooses a non-profit women’s organization to benefit, and gathers as many participants as it can for a day of cross country skiing which includes lunch and a raffle. This year’s benefit organization is Voices Against Violence. Voices Against Violence is a crisis services agency located in Plymouth, NH. We provide information and support to victims and survivors, their family and friends, community members, and professionals around domestic violence, children who witness domestic violence, sexual violence and harassment, stalking, human trafficking and bullying.  If you would like to make an additional donation to the organization, you can do so through registration.

Please click HERE for the Women's XC Ski Day Page on the NENSA website for more details on lodging, rentals, and clinic information.

Please note: There is a 250 participant maximum for this event. Once 250 people register, we will open up the waitlist option on the registration page, and we will contact waitlist skiers individually as people are able to come off the waitlist.

Lodging:

Lodging information available HERE. We’re happy to share an opportunity for Women's XC Ski Day attendees to both save money on hotels and reduce our collective carbon footprint. We’ve partnered with travel company TripZero (a Certified B Corp) to offset the carbon footprint created by travel to our event.

With the help of our partner hotels, we’ve secured significantly discounted room rates exclusively for attendees. By booking these hotel rooms, we collectively enable TripZero to offset the carbon footprint created by our travel–at no cost to you.
Through the purchase of certified carbon offsets, TripZero funds reforestation and renewable energy projects that remove pollution from the atmosphere. As these projects offset the impact of our travel, they also create lots of benefits for local communities. Interested? Take a moment to watch this project video.

If you’d like to take advantage of our discounted hotel rates, don't delay. We have a very limited number of rooms and expect them to sell-out soon.
