Come to Titcomb Mountain in the western foothills of Maine for a fun, late afternoon/night sprint race under the lights. This event is intended to be a fun challenge for all ages.  The 1.2 km course will begin in Bitterauf Stadium where participants will shoot into the woods all under the lights and end back at the finish building. The Kings Court race format will give each participant an opportunity to race four times (four laps).

As part of the fun, participants’ names will be entered for a bib draw for some great items. Hot chocolate and cookies will be available at the end of the race along with Prizes.

This is a great warm up event for the athletes heading to the Rangeley Loppet and for high school athletes tuning up for the U16’s and Eastern High Schools. Also,a great race for college athletes finishing their season. We encourage anyone who likes to race, come and participate. Titcomb has a warm and friendly lodge and atmosphere.

The qualifier will begin at Friday, February 27th at 3:30 pm with heats to follow.

A Kings Court format is as follows:

A qualifier race is held first with individual starts every 15 seconds.

All skiers (all ages and genders together) are placed into heats based on their qualifier results (fastest 6 in heat one, next fastest 6 in heat 2, etc.).

All skiers participate in three rounds of heats (quarterfinals, semifinals, finals). From each heat, the fastest two skiers move up in the next round and the slowest two skiers move down in the next round.

The winner of heat one in the finals will be crowned the winner of the entire race.

Each round will begin as soon as results from the previous qualifier or round have been sorted.

Only the qualifier will be timed.
