The Silver Fox Trot is named after coaching legend Al “The Silver Fox” Merrill. Al guided Dartmouth skiers for 25 years, including a national championship win, and coached the US Olympic and national teams on the side. He was known internationally for his warmth and enthusiasm, and his belief in XC skiing as a molder of good people.
