2/10/2026 - NEW DATE for this event is Sunday 2/22!

Gunstock Nordic Association (GNA) and Gunstock Mountain Resort (GMR) look forward to welcoming skiers of all ages to the NENSA Paintball Biathlon on Sunday 2/22.

We just co-hosted the New Hampshire Nordic Coaches Series skate race, with over 500 middle and high school skiers from public/private schools and clubs across NH.  The challenging 4.6k loop was in excellent shape and a great time was had by all!

Gunstock has really upped their game with snowmaking and grooming on the nordic trail system this winter and, on top of that (literally), we've been blessed with a ton of natural snow and low temps!

More snow in the forecast between now and Sunday 2/22, so we're expecting awesome ski conditions.

2/4/2026 - This event will be rescheduled due to unsafe temperatures forecast for Sunday February 8th in Gilford NH: during the event timeframe, the temperatures are expected in the range of zero to -10 with a windchill of -14 to -23 degrees fahrenheit!

GNA is working with Gunstock and NENSA to determine an alternate date for rescheduling.

Welcome to the 2026 edition of the GNA Valentine's Day Paintball Biathlon!

GNA and Gunstock Mountain Resort welcomed back ski racers on Sunday January 4th for the Gunstock Freestyle Zak Cup event, and we can't wait to host our annual Paintball Biathlon on Sunday February 8th.

Ski conditions on the Gunstock Nordic Trail system are better than they have been in years and improving all the time.  Final course selection is underway now, and we'll provide more detail here on that soon.

Please note: Online Registration only for the U16, U18, U20, U23, Senior, and Masters races which take place in the morning.

We highly recommend Online Registration for the afternoon BKL as well to avoid long waits and registration errors on race-day!

For those BKL (Lollipop thru 8th grade, shorter distance) races beginning at 1:00 pm and later, we will accept Venmo, Cash or Check payments on race-day. We cannot process credit card payments onsite.

Please Note:  Online Registration Closes at 5:00 pm on Saturday February 7th... day before race.

Skiing Technique:  Freestyle (Skate) for most... but little kids may ski on whatever xc equipment they have.

This is a Fluoro-free event. Non-fluoro waxes only.

Start Times (15-second interval starts):
· 10:00 am – U16 and older girls/women
· 10:40 am – U16 and older boys/men

Lollipop: Pre-School; Kindergarten; Grades 1 & 2 (3 x 200m)
Grades 3 & 4 (3 x 500m)
Grades 5 & 6 (3 x 800m)
Grades 7 & 8 (3 x 1.5K)

Parking: Please park behind the Nordic Center until that fills up.

GNA Biathlon Rules
For every target that you hit, you will have 10 seconds deducted from your elapsed time. Not hitting the targets does not change your elapsed time.
